New Year Resolutions

New Years Resolutions...This is the time of year when everyone vows to become a better person. Every year, I join the millions of American citizens who make New Year Resolutions. The top resolutions are get a better education/ make make better grades, get a better job (or in this economy..get a job), get fit/ lose weight, manage debt, save money, take a trip, volunteer and help others more, recycle more, manage stress, and spend more time with family/friends. I have recently started to think, "What do I want to do in 2012?" The first thing I did was look at every one's "common" resolutions. I would like to get fit, make good grades, volunteer more, and spend more time with my family. Last year I made these same resolutions and did not do a bad job of doing better but I did not do as well as I wanted. I have lost about 7 lbs, volunteered for at least 65 hours (since June), and made better grades since last year. I also have taken AP (advanced placement) and honor courses. This year I am going to be much more specific with how I want to make my goals. I will post how I will complete my goals for 2012 once it gets closer to January 1st,2012.

Christmas List

There are only eight days until Christmas! I am asking for items from my favorite store, The Blue Door Boutique and/or money. These are the pieces that I have asked for from some family members.

I love this dress! It is perfect to wear to a Christmas party which is exactly my plan. I am looking at going to a college who's color is red, white, and blue. I could wear this to sorority functions. I am in a high school sorority and this would be perfect for certain functions. This can be worn all year and it is beautiful!
This is the perfect little black dress. It is a modest length which is not seen often these days.. I just love this dress because it is perfect for more occasions than I could even list.
This top is perfect for autumn. Blue jeans, black skinnies, or leggings just would go perfect with this lovely top. I saw this top the first time they posted it on their site but didn't ask for it and now I am asking for it because it so versatile.

I asked for this jacket and tank top. I love it because it is a nice beautiful color and you can wear this on a shopping trip with the girls, a bowling date, or a nice casual dinner with the family.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Fashion Foward Day 1

These are two of my favorite things from The Blue Door Boutique in Columbus, GA. I post some more after my exams and during this weekend. :) These are only two of my favorites...there are many more cute items!!!

This top is beautiful! Just wear jeans or black skinnies with a colorful scarf and you would be set for the day. Riding boots are all the rage right now and even if you don't want to wear those Uggs would be amazing to wear with this casual and comfy outfit. This outfit is great for a Starbucks trip with the girls, a car ride,or to take the ACT.
This dress is beautiful. Purple is my favorite color and this dress is the perfect amount of color! This would be great to wear to a LSU football game, a Millsaps college visit, or to a (little more than casual) date for dinner and a movie. You can wear this dress anytime of the year which is the characteristic of the perfect casual dress.

College Visits (Questions to ask)

Some of the questions I want to know about colleges when I go...
What percentage of the student body gets involved in the Greek life?
Do the Greeks have their own houses?
When is rush?
Do you need to have your own laptop?
Is there wireless internet around the campus?
Is there free use of washing machines/dryers?
Is there free use of printers around campus?
Does  the school makes use of graduate students as teaching assistants?
If so, in what capacity and how  often they serve?
Does the school provide tutors?
Is there a fee for such additional help?
What's the actual workload as far as number of courses per semester?
What kind of semester schedule is the school on?
Is housing guaranteed all four years?
Do dorm rooms have their own bathrooms?
How is the study abroad system?
Do many students take use of the study abroad system?

Ask the student guide
How does he/she feel walking around the campus at night?
How is the student turnout and spirit at sporting events?
Is the student body diverse or does one type dominate?
What happens on the campus on the weekends?
Does it empty out or is there plenty to do?
Can freshmen have cars and are cars really necessary?
What outstanding professors or courses might the tour guide recommend regardless of a student's major? How easy was it to get the courses he wanted with the professors and at the times he wanted them?

Day Two

I took the math exam today. It was not that hard but it was very long exam. Tomorrow I have my history exam, AP art history help session, and a tour of a college. I have no idea what I should wear. I am going to go through my closet after studying to pick something out. I'll put a picture up when I figure it out. I'm also going to post important things to know when going to a college campus tour. I will also post pictures of some of the cutest clothes from my favorite little store. It is in Columbus, Georgia. It is called " The Blue Door Boutique." I had the great joy of visiting when I went up to Auburn, Alabama one weekend last month. Also, if you were wondering...I so am an Auburn fan. WAR EAGLE Y'ALL!
